OAT BAKE

Updated: Feb 2, 2021

Here's a new breakfast I made up this morning just by thinking. It's naturally gluten-free, plant-based, and delicious as hell. It's warm and comforting and will set you out for the day with a full belly and a happy fucking heart! This works in either an air-fryer an oven.

Serves: 1 (if you want to make it for more use a larger baking dish and size up the ingredients as needed - it's just fucking math - figure it out!)

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup plant-milk, unsweetened

1 Tbsp ground flax (or chia)

1 scoop protein powder (optional)

1 ripe banana

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1 Tbsp maple syrup (optional - recommended if not using a protein powder that you like)

Additional fruit - I recommend a small apple, chopped up, and a heaping 1/2 cup of berries - fresh or frozen

1 Tbsp dried fruit (raisins, currents, cranberries)

1/2 oz (2 Tbsp) chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, almonds, whatever you want!)

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat your oven to to 350 F or your air fryer to 325 F.

In a high-speed blender (I used a magic bullet) plop in the oats, milk, flax or chia, protein powder (if using), banana, cinnamon, and maple syrup (if using). Blend that shit up till it's nice and smooth!

Pour the mixture into a single serving baking dish - a ramekin works nicely for this. Add your fruit, dried fruit, and nuts and mix that bad boy up till it's all nice and combined. Smooth it over all nice like and wipe and excess off the sides so that shit doesn't burn.

Place it into the oven for 25 minutes or the air fryer for 20 minutes. Sit back and relax.

When it's ready it's gonna be hot, so let it cool a little bit before you SMASH IT INTO YOUR FACE!

TIPS:

Feel free to swap out the spices based on what fruit and nuts you're using. Go tropical and add some coconut and mango and goji berries - go chocolaty with cocoa powder! You do you!
